10 yr. old
i%26#039;ve danced off%26amp;on for about 4 years
i REALLY!!!!! want to get in to pointe!!
How long should i be in dance to wear pointe shoes!!!!!!?
Here%26#039;s the thing. You%26#039;re 10. You have danced for a while. But be really careful, and you might want to wait. It might not be what you want to hear, but if you go on too soon and aren%26#039;t ready, you could ruin your entire dance career.
I know how bad you want to be on pointe, I remember when I did. It%26#039;s so wonderful, even though it hurts a bit. It%26#039;s like magic and it%26#039;s just so exiting! Your teacher will know when and how to put you on pointe. In the meantime, really straighten your legs and especially your ankles. A great exercise is to write the alphabet with your feet in the air- I know-weird, but it works.
About your age, the youngest I%26#039;ve seen girls go en pointe is 11, sometimes 12. You don%26#039;t want to rush. It%26#039;s OK to wait, and it%26#039;s even better to go for it and try hard. Just be smart.
Reply:Ask your teache what she thinks about it. It depens on how good you are too. I started dance when I was like three, and started point at age ten. So your not too young but you may not have been going long enough to do it but ask she really is the only one who can tell you.
Reply:i %26#039;m 15 and i have been doing ballet four months but my teacher said that next year i will wear pointe because of my strong will and my good technique. i believe that if you really love it you can make it!
Reply:probably 11! i know someone who started at 8!!!good luck!
Reply:Your ballet teacher is the only one who should tell you when its okay to start training on point. He or she can see how strong you are. The key is to be strong and have good technique because these things will help prevent you from injuring yourself. Point shoes are exciting! And its definitely worth the wait. Let the anticipation motivate you to persevere!
Reply:10 is normally the age when teachers start to pay attention.
if your legs and ankles and feet get strong enough then your teacher might start thinking about letting you go en pointe.
if you start to soon you could injure yourself, and keep yourself from going up for even longer.
so you have to be patient and really start to train yourself.
do plie releve when your watching tv, sit in your splits, do coupes, and just practice...
good luck! and be patient lol

Can anyone recommend a good dance shoe for casual social ballroom dancing?
The venues where I dance are very casual and laid-back, and I usually dance in jeans or crop pants, sometimes a casual skirt. I have been dancing in shoes from the mall, but that%26#039;s not the greatest option. Any suggestions on a brand, syle, web site?
Can anyone recommend a good dance shoe for casual social ballroom dancing?
It doesn%26#039;t really matter how casual or how dressy is the social you%26#039;re attending. You need quality shoes. They are all made resonably pretty, the difference is quality. I recommend closed toe, suede sole social ballroom shoes. Many people go for open toe, too. The exact style doesn%26#039;t really matter, entirely up to your taste. Just don%26#039;t get anything that%26#039;s all straps, that%26#039;s not very comfortable.
The height of the heel is up to you, but don%26#039;t get anything higher than 2.5%26quot;, no need to torture your feet. Some shoes come with better padding of the soles than other; you need that feature if you like to dance non-stop for a couple of hours. Some models come with buckled top, which allows you to vary the width of the shoe. This is pretty good feature when you have to buy from internet.
There are cheap cheap brands out there, but I found them not as durable, not as comfortable and in some cases bad for your feet. Go for something that%26#039;s decent quality.
Leading brands are Supadance, International, Dance Naturals. Those are professional quality shoes, if you get them on sale - consider yourself lucky.
Successful but still pretty cheap are Stephanie and Dance Amo. They are much cheaper, come with steel shank (to support and protect your foot) and with good padding. Capezio is popular too but beware - nothing suede-soled other that Practice shoe is any good.
It is best if you can find a local store that carries ballroom shoes. Ballroom shoe needs to be fitting like a glove. It is pretty difficult to guess wich style or brand will fit you better.
Here is a few websites where I like to shop for shoes:
http://www.featherdanceshoes.com
http://www.dancesport.uk.com
http://dancevision.com
http://www.dance-shop.com/acatalog/Dance...
Please note that some brands come in Italian or British sizes - be sure to use conversion chart.
These styles are pretty %26quot;safe%26quot; to recommend to anyone:

They are most practical and fit pretty well.
But check out featherdanceshoes.com - they have couple of good designs on sale on the front page.

What are the best women's shoes for swing dancing?
I%26#039;ve always danced in my dress shoes, whatever I had at home. Now I%26#039;m going to a wedding and am looking forward to buying a dress and shoes. I%26#039;d like to buy shoes that are usable for daily wear if possible; I%26#039;d rather not spring for dedicated dance shoes, as we don%26#039;t get out too often (2 babies!) and are on a tight budget. Is there a certain style and sole that are good? Flats, I imagine, or a low heel, smooth soles...? (I have over a month to go, could possibly order online, prefer to try shoes in a store, will take any advice you offer!)
What are the best women%26#039;s shoes for swing dancing?
Aris Allen is a very popular line... http://www.arisallen.com/ Take a look at their website and see if it gives you any ideas. You can also frequently find people selling used pairs on ebay that are usually in pretty good shape.
Reply:If you are dressing up enough, you can get a decent pair of ballroom dancing shoes for about $80. Other than that, You can wear anything that%26#039;s comfortable and has some slip to the sole. Cowboy boots are great.
Reply:I think you should get your shoes the same color of your dress , all so if you like a heal on the shoe you can Aris Allen RugCutterRaw Sole they are very nice and dose not hurt your feet at all . That is what I would chose . have fun a t the wedding . -B-
Reply:Flats.. think of the 50%26#039;s shoe styles..
Reply:If you%26#039;re looking for something elegant, you%26#039;ll want a wedge of some kind (shoe with a high heal, but the bottom of the shoe is all connected and flat at the bottom). This was the common shoe worn in the 40%26#039;s, and they%26#039;re quite popular now at Target and Wallmart if you%26#039;re looking for a cheap buy.
If you%26#039;re looking for something more fun (I don%26#039;t know what your outfit is) but you%26#039;ll probably want something like Sadle Shoes (the black and white shoes commonly associated with the 50%26#039;s) which date back to 30%26#039;s collegiate fashion.
The important thing is to buy comfortable shoes. There%26#039;s no point in buying shoes to dance in that look great, but end up giving you a blister.

Hope that helps!

Do GOGO DANCING SHOES hurt your feet, or are they comfortable?
There are some gogo dancers I%26#039;ve seen, and they dance all night, and some take them off, but I%26#039;m just curious and wondering if those shoes are uncomfortable or if they%26#039;re truly made for gogo dancers so that they can dance in comfort?
Do GOGO DANCING SHOES hurt your feet, or are they comfortable?

Start A Dance Shoe Buisness?
I want to start a dance shoe buisness and I need to know where i can order large amouts of shoes for a low price. I also need to know where I can get a cheap website.
Thx:)
Start A Dance Shoe Buisness?
Create your own website for really cheap via GoDaddy or 1and 1. As for a shoe wholesaler, google it or check your local yellow pages. I could refer you but dance shoes are unique and whether they are for adults or children will determine where they come from.
