Junior High Semi-Formal Dance Ideas: Makeup, Hair, Dress, Shoes?

I want to have a purple dress, because I have hazel eyes and it looks really good with my eyes, but I don%26#039;t know what makeup to wear...I%26#039;m thinkiing very matte skin with light blush and REALLY striking eyes...any pretty eye ideas? Or hair? And shoes and accessories for a purple dress? (dark purple, not light) Thanks.

It completely depends on the cut of the dress, if a more conservative dress (i.e. below the knee, covers up most of the chest area) I would suggest hair up in a simple twist or a french twist if you can manage it.

A halfup style would be much more dance friendly however.

You would want matte skin if you are to be dancing, make up wise: Heavy mascara on top and bottom lashes, shimmery shadow on just the lids, nude lips (too much color would overwhelm), and liquid eyeliner with a small flick up at the edge for the top. Very Audrey Hepburn and chic. black shoes (ballet flats would be easier to dance with) don%26#039;t bother with a purse, but you would need something for your ears if you are wearing it all up. Chandelier earings or something pretty and dangly, a big no for a necklace if the neckline is higher up however.

For a less conservative dress (a strapless dress, or a v neck etc). Hair down in light waves, either braid it the night before or get it curled with a 2 inch curling iron. LOOSE waves is the key.

Makeup: Less mascara (maybe 1 coat or 2), line the bottom eyelid only half way with a dark color, and fill the rest with purple eyeliner or shadow. Line the top lightly with a dark eyeliner. Lips, a light colored lip gloss

Shoes: Heels are a must with a less conservative dress. Kitten heels would be easier to dance in

Accessories: Studs for earrings only, long dangly ones would get caught in your hair since it would be down, however a necklace would look very nice with this.

additional Tips

SILVER. NOT GOLD!

There is no need to wear blush. If you are dancing you would be working up a flush anyways so a blush would be make you TOO red

Dont%26#039; focus too much on the hair, it will get messy later on that night anyways.

A Light shawl would be elegant, try to find a black one.
